Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026
Luxton.Law is the trade name of The Law Office of Stephen K. Luxton, a law practice at 10107 McAllister Freeway, San Antonio, Texas 78216. This policy explains what information the firm collects through this website, by phone, by email and by text message, and how the firm uses it.
Information we collect. We collect what you choose to give us: your name, contact details and anything you tell us when you call, email, text or book an appointment. Appointment booking runs through Google Calendar, and Google's privacy policy governs what Google collects on that page. Our website host processes standard technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site. The host also counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics and may set a security cookie to screen out automated traffic. Pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser also connects to Google. The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it. We use your information to respond to you, to evaluate a possible representation, to check for conflicts of interest, to represent our clients and to meet our legal and professional obligations.
Confidentiality. Information from clients is protected by the attorney-client privilege and the lawyer's duty of confidentiality. Information you send before the firm agrees to represent you may not be treated as confidential. Please do not send confidential details in a first message.
Sharing. We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the practice (phone, email and document storage), with courts and other parties as a representation requires, or when the law requires it.
Text messages. The firm texts clients and people who have contacted the firm about scheduling, appointment reminders, requests for documents or information, and the status of their matters. These are one-to-one messages. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
- Consent. Clients agree to texts in their engagement agreement or by telling us, in writing or out loud, that we may text them. If you text us first, we will reply in that conversation. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of representation.
- Frequency and cost. How often we text depends on your matter. Message and data rates may apply.
- Stopping texts. Reply STOP at any time and we will stop texting you and use another way to reach you. For help, reply HELP or call (726) 249-4729.
- No sharing for marketing. We do not share mobile phone numbers, text-message opt-in information or texting consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Our phone service provider handles numbers and message content only to deliver messages for the firm.
- Security. Text messages are not a secure channel and may appear on a locked screen. Do not text Social Security numbers, account numbers or passwords, and do not rely on a text for anything urgent. Call the office instead.
Keeping records. Messages, photos and documents you send become part of the firm's file for your matter and are kept under the firm's file-retention practice.
Changes and contact. We may update this policy and will change the effective date when we do. Questions: Stephen@Luxton.Law or (726) 249-4729.
